Sri Lanka Railways has enhanced operations of the Seethawaka Odyssey Tourist Train to run every Saturday starting the 5th of August. Previously the train only operated on Sundays and will now operate from Colombo Fort to Waga Railway Station on Saturdays, taking 2 hours and 20 minutes to reach the final stop after 14 stations. The weekend special train has the potential to generate more income for Sri Lanka Railways and promote hidden gems on the island for more visibility.

The train schedule starts at 7.15 am and will return to Colombo at 5.10 pm. Those who wish to explore Sri Lanka can utilise trains to visit popular destinations such as Seethawaka, Ella, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya.
