Maldives Tourism has seen a remarkable upsurge in tourist arrivals since the start of 2024, recording over 800,000 tourists arriving from several countries.
Data from the Maldives Ministry of Tourism indicate that the most prominent market to have contributed to these numbers is China, with a recorded number of over 90,000 Chinese tourists visiting the island. Apart from China, several other markets have continued to increase tourism numbers. Second to China is Russia, bringing in 84,055 visitors, while the United Kingdom ranks third, with 79,507 visitors. Other notable markets include Italy, Germany, India, France, USA, Switzerland and Poland.
Maldives tourism has seen steady growth in the past few years and the Maldives continues to be a top destination for travellers, largely due to its improved facilities. Finding a 5 star hotel in Maldives isn’t too difficult a task with many island resorts, villas and hotels like Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort, that provide the best accommodation facilities and amenities for tourists.
