Singapore Borders May Reopen by End of 2021 – Travel Bubble Begins with Hong Kong

Singapore had originally decided on launching the travel bubble with Hong Kong on May 26th this year. However, the two countries came to a mutual agreement to dismiss the idea and review the status of COVID-19 outbreaks in both countries in July. Meanwhile, the city-state has also been carrying out vaccination programmes while ensuring strict protocols are in place for accommodation options; this includes SG Clean certified hotels in Singapore city centre that ensure safe stays such as Grand Park City Hall.

Although in May, Singapore saw a bit of a spike in COVID-19 cases, the numbers of the outbreak have been significantly decreasing in June. Gan Kim Yong, the Trade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong mentioned at a press conference that discussions about the travel bubble with Hong Kong will continue while Singapore focuses on increasing the rate of vaccinations to ensure safety and flexibility for travel.
