Singapore-Hong Kong travel bubble: tourists could spend US$600 on four Covid-19 tests

Will travel be a hassle?

Singapore and Hong Kong formed the world’s first travel bubble which allows travellers in both countries to visit either destination. Still, it doesn’t come cheap and it isn’t without going through at least 4 PCR tests. But keen travellers have already booked their flights and made arrangements to travel and catch up on missed holiday plans.

Experts say that travellers will need to undergo a total of at least four PCR tests. Two in the traveller’s country and two in the host country. Test results can take about 48 hours as the swabs have to be sent to the lab for examination. Experts warn that such test-taking will involve fatigue as well, but nothing seems to stop determined travellers. PCR tests will cost a traveller about S$800 which is quite an expense and will make travel less accessible to most people, unfortunately. Many a Kowloon hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui the likes of Park Hotel Hong Kong, however, are looking forward to the implementation of the travel bubble.
