Singapore Mulls More Travel Corridors – Hong Kong Travel Bubble Launched

Singapore may begin travel corridors in the second half of 2021 for vaccinated travellers from other nations; this was according to Ong Ye Kung, the country’s Transport Minister who was being interviewed on Money FM 89.3 in March this year. The minister noted that such travel corridors could come into effect with destinations that have infection rates that are low to moderate as well as ongoing vaccination drives; additionally, he stated that Singapore had already opened its borders to certain countries that are successfully controlling the virus such as New Zealand, China and Australia.

In May this year, Singapore added Hong Kong to the list with a quarantine-free travel bubble beginning between the two nations. While the country has launched initiatives like Connect@Changi for business purposes, it has also ensured those travelling to the city enjoy a safe stay; this includes hotels near Mapletree Business City Singapore that have been certified as SG Clean with the likes of Park Hotel Alexandra implementing strict sanitisation and hygiene measures.
