Singapore Prepares for Mid-Autumn Festival – Fun-filled Cultural Experiences Await

Amongst the most popular Chinese events in Singapore, the Mid-Autumn Festival will take place at the end of this month. Its origins date back to when farmers would traditionally celebrate and give thanks to the gods for the autumn harvest. The day of the festival is on the 15th day of the Chinese lunar calendar’s eighth month, coinciding with a full moon; this year, it falls on 29th September with the main festivities being centred around Chinatown close to Somerset Bencoolen Singapore; those based at such properties featuring apartments near Bencoolen MRT can look forward to easy access to the best this colourful event has to offer.

Most of the celebrations are enjoyed after the sun has set with families and friends coming together to share meals and engage in moon-viewing parties. One of the highlights of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the display of a wide array of vibrant lanterns which can be viewed in areas such as Chinatown; additionally, this event is also known for its delicious moon cakes with various fillings which visitors can look to savour as well.
