Singapore Reopens Its Borders – Resuming Essential Travel Among Low Transmission Countries

Singapore has begun to gradually reopen its borders for essential travel among low transmission countries. The Ministry of Health issued a message on the 19th of May promising to adhere to “necessary precautions and safeguards.”

Singapore has successfully left the “circuit breaker” on the 1st of June. Overseas travel is restricted except for essential travel between low transmission countries but locals are slowly visiting popular haunts such as the Marina Bay shopping malls, Orchard Road and Clark Quay hotels in Singapore. The reopening has seen a boost in local tourism, to hotels the likes of Park Hotel Clarke Quay, but tourists arriving from outside Singapore will take a while, at least until all travel is no longer restricted in and out of the city-state.
