On 12th April this year, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore Airlines focused on boosting tourism to the island nation; the MoU was signed by Regional Vice President West Asia & Africa of Singapore Airlines, Mr. David Lau and SLTPB Chairperson, Ms. Kimarli Fernando. The agreement reaffirmed the commitment of the most awarded airline in the world to help promote Sri Lanka; this includes joint activities such as familiarisation tours for agents and the media, initially targeting key source markets like Singapore and Australia.
Social media, as well as electronic and print media initiatives, are also expected to be utilized in the long run for promotions as well as targeting destinations in the Far East. With Sri Lanka having reopened its borders and offering quarantine-free travel for all, it’s the ideal place for a holiday. Guests can enjoy safe stays at Colombo hotels near airport including properties like Pegasus Reef Hotel and experience the best of the island once more.
