Songkran Bangkok Festival

Songkran Bangkok Festival 2021 – Celebrated with Restrictions in Place

Songkran, which started as a religious ritual many centuries ago, has now transformed into the largest water fight in the world. This year, Songkran or Thai New Year was declared to be held from the 10th to 15th April. It was awaited with much anticipation what with the cancellation of the last year’s festivities due to the prevailing pandemic. The event was held with several restrictions and social distancing measures in place in line.

Bangkok, especially its Silom and Khao San Road, are known hotspots for being a part of Songkran. Plus, they are within easy reach of some of the best hotels Bangkok, Thailand, has to offer such as Chatrium Hotels & Residences, offering their residents easy access to the festivities. This annual event is not just about fun sessions of water fights but also purification, which was the festival’s original intention.
