The Songkran Festival is the traditional New Year’s Day of Thailand. While Chiang Mai is Songkran central, Khao San Road in Bangkok has also made a name as a great place for festivities. Held from the 13th until the 15th of April, the festival coincides with many Southeast Asian and South Asian New Year celebrations.

If you are planning to pay a visit to Thailand during Songkran and observe the festivities in the city of Bangkok, consider staying at one of the strategically located serviced apartments the likes of those offered by Ascott the Residence. The biggest and most famous Songkran celebrations are carried out in Chiang Mai in the northern part of the country. The Chiang May celebrations last for six days and sometimes, even longer.
