Songkran Festival – fun filled colourful Thai New Year

The colourful Songkran festival was held from the 13th to 15th of April 2015. Considered as the hottest month of the year, April provides a good opportunity for people to splash water at each other and engaged in other fun activities. During the festival banks, shopping malls and most offices close down. People make it a point to clean their houses, visit temples and spend time with family and friends. Travellers who missed out the chance to witness the festival this year have the opportunity to visit next year and be a part of this fantastic event. When looking for a place to stay, an option that could be considered is to stay at a serviced apartment in Bangkok such as Somerset Park Suanplu Bangkok. The apartment could be the base of your excursions to sacred temples such as the Wat Phra Kaeo, Wat Pho and Wat Chana Songkhram.
