South Korea sets eyes on 30 million international tourists by 2027 – Proposing plans for the future

The Korea Tourism Organization has set its goals for the future – namely 30 million foreign tourist arrivals by the year 2027, leveraging digital tourism platforms and storytelling tour programs to maximise the image of the country. Representatives for the organization went on to describe the hit to Korean tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that through data analysis and targeted marketing, the hope to bring back visitors to the country is rekindled.

Capitalizing on big datasets, and custom-created travel planners in the future, the KTO stressed developing and discovering tourism opportunities across the cities of Korea, signifying that hotels in Dongdaemun such as alternative and affordable accommodations like the Travelodge Dongdaemun Seoul will have equal opportunities as well as increased tourism numbers – and even cutting-edge technologies like digital inclusions into the Metaverse will encourage younger audiences to visit.
