Sri Lanka Amongst Top Countries in the World – List Published by Condé Nast Traveller

In this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2021 by Condé Nast Traveller, Sri Lanka came in fifth place amongst the “Top 20 Countries in the World”. The rankings which were published in October 2021 were based on votes cast by readers of Condé Nast Traveller and showed the popularity of this destination. First place went to Portugal followed by New Zealand, Japan and Morocco respectively.

The Sri Lankan tourism industry was given a further boost on 1st October this year when it was announced that fully vaccinated tourists did not have to quarantine; they were also exempt from an on-arrival COVID-19 PCR test though they were required to show a negative result of such a test conducted within 72 hours of departure to Sri Lanka.
