Sri Lanka and the Maldives to be Stronger Together – A new Foreign Policy Agenda for Neighbourly Islands

A new Foreign Policy Agenda for Neighbourly Islands

Considering the long-lasting neighbourly relations between the nations of Sri Lanka and the Maldives, discussions are now taking place among the diplomatic leaders to have a bilateral foreign policy agenda benefiting both the countries mutually. According to the opinions of many Maldives luxury hotel chains, the number of Sri Lankan visitors, especially the honeymooners, is relatively good and on the other hand, Maldivians also perceive Sri Lanka to be their second home, where they can visit within a short period of time in an affordable manner.

Experts believe that if proper strategies and policies are formulated between the two countries, not only can the industry of trade be expected to boost, but also the industry of tourism and hospitality. This will indeed be a plus point for resorts the likes of Naladhu Private Island Maldives who are always striving to make a noticeable change in the way the Maldives has seen tourism for the past couple of years.
