Sri Lanka Celebrates the 75th Year of Independence
For the ones hoping to capture Sri Lanka dressed in all its glory, the Independence Day Ceremony, which was commemorated on the 4th of February 2023 would have marked the ideal opportunity. As the country celebrated being a free nation for the 75th year, every local and tourist at any of the best hotels in Nuwara Eliya, Colombo, Negombo or Down South would have been aware of the event. Therefore, even those residing in Heritance Tea Factory would have been able to capture a glimpse of the event on local television.
The day was celebrated on a grand note at Galle Face Green, under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as well as Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, amidst the usual festivities, and displays that the country has been observing for the past years.
