Sri Lanka eases quarantine rules for vaccinated tourists – The island tries to pick up tourism

Now that the vaccine is out around the whole world, most of the people have already been vaccinated. Sri Lanka is expecting an influx of tourists since the airport opened to international flights in January 2021. Quarantine procedures are a must, but the government is working on lifting quarantine restrictions on tourists who have already been vaccinated.

Kirmali Fernando the chairperson of Sri Lanka Tourism stated that overseas travellers who have already taken the vaccine will be required to take a PCR test on arrival and then once again 7 days later. They have the freedom to select the best hotels in Sri Lanka for their stay, however it will be necessary to stay at the same hotel for the first fourteen days on the island.  Araliya Hotels & Resorts and other hotel chains are well versed with the cleanliness measure to keep the environment safe.
