Sri Lanka green light for Covaxin: Opens quarantine free for fully jabbed Indian tourists – Creating barrierless travel

Sri Lankan Airlines declared recently that the country is now open for fully vaccinated travellers from India. This includes all travellers who have got themselves vaccinated with Covaxin. According to the latest news, such travellers who come to Sri Lanka from India do not need to undergo the quarantine procedure if they test COVID negative on arrival. If they do, however, test positive, they will be arranged special quarantine facilities. It should be noted that according to this new rule, every traveller should have completed both the doses and the last dose must have been taken at least 14 days before their visit to Sri Lanka.

India has always been a major tourist market for Sri Lanka, and the reopening of borders will offer a boost to the tourism industry; Indian travellers can look forward to experiencing what the island has to offer once more including safe accommodation at holiday bungalows in Nuwara Eliya the likes of Scottish Planter Glendevon Bungalow. One requirement is that the travel officials of Sri Lanka have requested is to ensure that the Indian travellers wear masks and practice social distancing when they spend their days in Sri Lanka.
