Building global visibility through culture, collaboration, and diverse travel experiences
Sri Lanka concluded its participation at ITB Berlin 2026 on a positive note, drawing steady attention from German and wider European travel markets during the event held from 3 to 5 March. The Sri Lanka Pavilion attracted visitors with cultural performances, traditional displays, and a broad showcase of travel experiences, reinforcing the island’s position as a year-round destination.
The stand in Hall 5.2 was officially inaugurated by Ambassador Waruni Muthukumarana, together with representatives from tourism authorities, airlines, and industry stakeholders. A 72-member delegation represented the country across promotional activities and business meetings throughout the fair.
Engagements included structured B2B sessions, media interactions, and visitor-facing promotions. A press conference held at the Media Centre welcomed 64 international journalists, generating strong engagement around Sri Lanka’s tourism developments.
The country’s recognition as “Destination of the Year – Diverse Island Experiences” at the PATWA Awards further strengthened its global profile, while its hospitality sector, including Mandara Rosen Kataragama and the wider all inclusive hotel Sri Lanka category, continues to support its growing appeal.
