Sri Lanka Keeps Borders Open for Tourists – Hopes That Arrivals Will Increase

A popular tourist destination, Sri Lanka has seen growing arrival numbers following the reopening of its borders. There have been several updates to the stringent protocols in place to ensure visitors will have a safe stay. One such update was issued at the beginning of May this year; irrespective of whether travellers had received the recommended dosage of a COVID-19 vaccine, they had to spend up to 14 days at a ‘Safe and Secure’ Level 1 hotel. There was no minimum stay duration and during this period, they could freely move around the resort or hotel and visit certain attractions under special guidelines.

It will be hoped that soon these restrictions will also be gradually reduced as the global pandemic situation eases. This island nation continues to offer some remarkable experiences which can be enjoyed on stays at boutique hotels in Sri Lanka owned by such hospitality brands as KK Collection located at key destinations.
