Sri Lanka Lifts Lockdown Restrictions – Importance of Ayurvedic Care Also Highlighted

Sri Lanka which had previously imposed a lockdown to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic lifted existing restrictions on 1st October 2021. The country which has been successfully carrying out mass vaccination drives put a comprehensive plan in place with strict protocols to be followed. Along with this plan by the Special Committee on COVID-19 Control, the need for Ayurvedic post-COVID treatment centres was also emphasised including in tourist areas which could help to promote tourism too.

Following the pandemic, there has been an increase in demand for traditional medicine such as Ayurveda as well. With the international borders having reopened in Sri Lanka, tourists can now enjoy holidays at a ‘Safe & Secure Level 1’ certified Beruwala hotel specialising in personalised and bespoke Ayurvedic treatments; this includes the likes of Heritance Ayurveda that offers beachfront getaways with holistic treatments overseen by resident Ayurveda physicians.
