Sri Lanka Looks to Boost Indian Arrivals

Tourism Promotions Initiated

In a bid to attract more Indian tourists, the government of Sri Lanka has put into motion a special promotion programme that is hoped will lead to an increase in visitor numbers. As part of this initiative, a ferry service is expected to be launched at the end of the year; this service will see a ferry run from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to nearby Rameshwaram which can be found in Tamil Nadu. This will be a part of the Ramayana Tourism circuit promotion which is expected to lead to more arrivals from South India. To meet this end, a free visa programme has been additionally introduced as well.

The Indian market has been among the top destinations in terms of arrivals with tourists having the opportunity to enjoy diverse experiences; be it at a Nuwara Eliya bungalow to visit the Hakgala Botanical Garden or at a Kalutara hotel the likes of Avani Kalutara Resort for a beach holiday, there are many adventures that await.
