Sri Lanka looks to open the country for tourists

A glittering ray of hope

Sri Lankan Tourism Board authorities are currently considering to re-open the country for tourists adhering to strict health and safety regulations. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, travel restrictions were imposed in Sri Lanka, which is still in place.

However, the authorities have suggested either to open the country to all tourists under a mandatory 14-day quarantine period or to open the country adhering to a strict air bubble. The second option will only allow German tourists to visit Sri Lanka as they will only be traveling in the beach areas. Bentota, Yala, and Pasikudah have been suggested as the initial options for this, but in the later stages, Negombo hotels the likes of Amagi Aria will also be benefited when the respective areas are included in the list of the designated destinations.
