Sri Lanka Tourism is tapping into the invaluable contacts of its Visiting Blogger Programme to help promote the island as an exciting and safe destination; this was mentioned in an October article published online by the Sunday Observer newspaper which highlighted this strategy which seeks to “remind” potential holiday-seekers about the many experiences that await. These travel influencers are from diverse nations such as the USA, Australia, Canada, Germany and the UK; they have a global social media audience which is being used to good effect as they engage in the re-creation of positive travel content on Sri Lanka.
Apart from the many sightseeing options and activities, the country boasts a range of accommodation options be it a Kandy bungalow in the mountains or beach hotel in Wattalaincluding properties like Pegasus Reef. It will be hoped that once the country reopens for international visitors, all these factors will come into play and attract an increasing number of tourists.
