Sri Lanka Receives Spotlight at Guangzhou International Fair 2023 – Bags Two Gold Awards to Take Home
Sri Lanka became a highlight at the Guangzhou International Travel Fair held from the 19th to the 21st of May 2023. Sri Lanka was able to seize many opportunities and benefits from the fair including branding and promotion. Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau was awarded gold as the most distinctive tourist destination, while Sri Lanka Convention Bureau received gold for the best charming MICE destination. The best marketing strategy award by China Tourism Award was also presented to Sri Lanka Tourism.
The press conference held on the 22nd of May in Beijing also brought significant attention to Sri Lanka tourism and its attractions. A special focus was given during the fair to bring tourists to the island and generate revenue with Sri Lanka luxury villas, resorts, and hotels.
