Sri Lanka Recognised as Asia’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination – Action-packed Fun

Sri Lanka recently garnered the prestigious award of being Asia’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination 2018, reiterating the fact that it is one of the top country’s for action-packed outdoor excursions. The accolade was handed to the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau at the Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony of the World Travel Awards, held in September 2018 in Hong Kong. As with all the categories, the competition was fierce which destinations like China, Thailand, Japan and Vietnam amongst the nominees that Sri Lanka beat to take top honours.

It is also noteworthy that this was the second consecutive year that this award has been won by Sri Lanka. Adventure packages offered by tour specialists in the island such as Nature Odyssey feature a range of activities that continue to draw in travellers from around the world; these include white water rafting, biking, kayaking, trekking and horse riding as well as embarking on wildlife safaris.
