Sri Lanka Showcased at World Travel Market – Sri Lanka reaches out to the UK market

The World Travel Market was held in London this year from the 7th to the 9th of November 2022. The Sri Lanka High Commission situated in London expedited the participation of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau along with 57 travel trade partners at this event.  The pavilion for Sri Lanka was declared open by Tourism Minister, Harin Fernando on the 7th of November in the presence of important figures in Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.

Through the 3 days of the event, representatives from the island marketed their product by bringing the rich culture of Sri Lanka to life with cultural dances. The Ceylon Tea stall was a hit at the event with 7 regional teas being brewed at the counter. Travel agents from the UK showed interest in arranging tours to holiday bungalows in Nuwara Eliya which is sure to bring in business for accommodation options like Scottish Planter. Overall, the event was a massive success for Sri Lanka and the country hopes to see an increase in arrivals in the coming months.
