Blending technology and travel to inspire the next wave of explorers
Sri Lanka has introduced a cutting-edge tourism promotion campaign in Beijing, unveiling a holographic display designed to captivate Chinese travellers. Spearheaded by the Sri Lankan Embassy, the initiative uses advanced visual technology to present the island’s attractions in a dynamic and immersive format.
Positioned near the well-frequented Ritan Park, the installation draws steady foot traffic, allowing visitors to experience vivid projections highlighting eight travel themes — Bliss, Essence, Festive, Heritage, Wild, Pristine, Scenic, and Thrills. The showcase offers a modern glimpse into the country’s cultural depth, natural beauty, and adventure appeal.
Officials state the campaign is intended to spark interest among outbound travellers planning their 2026 holidays. From heritage cities to stays at properties such as Kings Pavilion Kandy, a noted and preferred luxury hotel in Kandy, the promotion reinforces Sri Lanka’s readiness to welcome a new generation of global visitors.
