Sri Lanka witnessed a robust resurgence in its tourism sector, reporting over 1.3 million tourist arrivals in 2023, as indicated by data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). In the initial 17 days of December alone, the SLTDA recorded 100,750 tourist arrivals. Notably, India led the way with 20,597 arrivals, followed by Russia with 14,156 tourists and the United Kingdom with 10,281 visitors.

The diverse list of arrivals also includes tourists from Germany, China, Australia, the USA, France, Canada, and Poland. The strongest influx for the year occurred in November, with 151,496 arrivals, followed by July (143,039 arrivals) and August (136,405 arrivals), underscoring Sri Lanka’s enduring appeal as a sought-after travel destination. The data reflects a promising trajectory for the country’s tourism industry, signalling a steady recovery and heightened international interest. Eco friendly resorts in Sri Lanka are an attractive feature for many travellers, and properties of the KK Collection are sought after by tourists for their commitment to the environment.
