Receiving a combined social media reach of 10 million in 2017, the project called SLTPB Visiting Blogger continues bringing in more success in the ongoing aggressive social media campaign for the country. A few travel bloggers and international social media influencers have been extended an invitation by Sri Lanka Tourism to explore the famous pearl of the Indian Ocean.
The travel bloggers and social media influencers were selected on specific criteria such as the type of travel destinations they have been visiting and interests. The selection was done by the SLTPB. The group also consisted of globally popular Instagrammers as well. The excursion planned out for the group included visits to the coastal areas, the north and the hill country with attractions like Sigiriya. Hotel accommodation was provided in places like Heritance Kandalama. The project was brought to a close in Colombo with word of thanks from the Hon. Minister for Tourism Development & Christian Affairs Mr John Amaratunga.
