Sri Lanka to Establish New Tourist Zones to Boost the Economy

Sri Lanka is gearing up to establish a set of new tourist zones to boost the country’s tourism industry. The zones will be set up in some of the most scenic and coveted areas of the country such as Mirissa, Haputale, Yala, Bentota, and Ella with the hope of encouraging more tourists to travel to Sri Lanka. With at least 850,000 tourist arrivals anticipated by the end of 2023, the country is hopeful that the range of amenities, activities, restaurants, shops and recreational facilities featured in the tourist zones will pique the interest of both local and oversea travellers across the globe.
