The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau plans to launch a comprehensive digital media campaign targeting digital nomad travellers. This strategy comes as part of a wider digital marketing campaign that aims to improve the island’s international visibility and attract larger segments of high-spending visitors to the country.
According to the Media Secretary to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Gayan Abeykoon, this digital nomad campaign will continue for six months starting in August and is expected to showcase Sri Lanka as an ideal destination for freelancers, remote workers and location-independent professionals who seek to enjoy a mix of island tranquillity and meaningful productivity at world-class getaways like IF Villa Thalpe.
Such efforts to target digital nomad travellers suggest an attempt to diversify Sri Lanka’s tourism market and will likely also showcase its diversity of accommodation options that cater to modern professionals, which now range from luxury urban hotels to bespoke coastal villas in Thalpe and other lesser-frequented locales.
