Sri Lanka Tourism Adds Value to the Guangzhou International Travel Fair – Making Waves in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry!

The Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) was held from the 19th to the 21st of May 2023, where the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau made a noticeable contribution. Sri Lankan delegation team included the Minister of Tourism Harin Fernando, the Chairman and Junior Manager of the Tourism Promotion Bureau, and the Chairman and Assistant Director of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau. The delegation team received the gold awards for the best marketing strategy by China Tourism Award, and the best charming MICE destination. The event featured a food festival where Sri Lankan cuisines were emphasised as well.

Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is experiencing a remarkable rebound following the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a plethora of captivating destinations gaining significant popularity. Among these extraordinary locations are Mandaramnuwara, Koggala, Hiriketiya, Arugam Bay, and Dambulla. Notably, Heritance Kandalama stands out as a breathtakingly scenic destination and a highly sought-after sustainable Dambulla hotel, attracting a multitude of tourists this year.
