Sri Lanka Tourism International Travel Blogger & Journalist Programme to support SME’s – Promoting the Pearl of the Indian Ocean

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau annually launches its ‘Visiting Travel Blogger and Journalist Program’ with the prime objective of encouraging world travellers to visit the island of Sri Lanka. This program has previously talked about destinations such as Sigiriya, Yala, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Trincomalee, and this year’s program is expected to cover other areas which need attention.

Resorts in Trincomalee the likes of Trinco Blu by Cinnamon are like to have received good responses from the international travellers after these blogs, vlogs and other virtual programs went viral. Tourism officials also believe that these programs will help to promote the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country among other countries. This year’s program will feature MSMEs in areas like Kurunegala, Monaragala, Wilpattu, Tangalle, Jaffna, and Pidurangala which are lesser-known among foreign travellers.
