Following a peaceful presidential election, Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is set for significant growth under newly elected President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. With a focus on unlocking the sector’s full potential, the government, alongside the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), is leading efforts to enhance the island’s offerings.
These initiatives aim to boost tourist arrivals, with a target of 2.3 million in 2024. Visa-free travel for 39 countries starting in October and the potential reinstatement of the streamlined Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) signal the island’s readiness for global travellers.
Hotels and resorts stand to benefit greatly from this surge, including Glenross Living, a modern and well-known luxury hotel in Kalutara that offers premium stays catering to visitors seeking both comfort and wellness.
Recognised by CEOWORLD and Forbes as a top-tier destination, Sri Lanka’s blend of natural beauty, rich heritage, and world-class hospitality is set to captivate a new wave of explorers.
