The Sri Lankan Tourism Promotion Bureau, also known as the SLTPB, just last month embarked on a series of roadshows across Australia in order to promote tourism to the island. These events took place within a week and started off in the Western Capital of Perth, which was held in the city’s central business district, at the Novotel Hotel.
The island’s tourism industry is booming, with many resorts constantly appearing throughout the nation, with examples such as Heritance Negombo which is one of the newer examples of a Negombo beach hotel.
In addition to hoteliers, there were also travel-agents, both Australian and Sri Lankan, as well as representatives from various other supporting entities. Mervyn Fenandopoulle, chairman and CEO of Airwing Tours was also present at the event.
