Sri Lanka rises again—where every arrival writes a new success story

Sri Lanka is experiencing a remarkable tourism resurgence in 2025, with Colombo emerging as one of South Asia’s top travel hubs. The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority reported over 33,900 international arrivals in the first week of May—up from 28,526 in 2024 and 18,761 in 2023—highlighting the island’s strong post-pandemic recovery.

This growth reflects successful destination marketing, infrastructure upgrades, and increased diversification of source markets. Coastal gems like Galle and Arugam Bay remain popular, while Colombo sees rising demand in both leisure and business travel. High-end travellers are increasingly choosing premium Sri Lanka hotels offering cultural and wellness experiences.
