The month started strong, with an influx of over 5,000 visitors daily during the initial weeks, resulting in a robust growth rate.

During the first 27 days of August, Sri Lanka played host to 123,285 tourists, bringing the year-to-date arrivals to a promising 891,198. India, in its role as the largest source market in August and the overall YTD perspective, demonstrated the enduring appeal of the island. Notably, China emerged as a rising star in the tourism landscape, highlighting the increasing allure of Sri Lanka among Chinese travellers.
