There was an increase of 19.3% in tourist arrivals in February 2018 when compared to a year earlier with visitors from China and India both showing significant growth. According to the data received from Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion office, China, being the top tourist generating market rose from 42.3% to 35,929 while visitors from India soared 25% to 32,914 in February.
The country continues to attract a wide range of tourists, be it those on the lookout for budget accommodation or luxury resorts. Travellers who are planning to visit this country should reserve their stay prior in a place such as Tamarind Hill, which is a popular hotel in Galle. UK visitors increased up to 23,817, France rose 21.3% to 16,871, arrivals from Russia grew 22.3% to 11,043 and Germany visitors increased from 16% to 17,066.
