Sri Lanka tourist arrivals up by 4.7 percent in March 2019 – The rising number of tourist arrivals

As reported in early April 2019, the tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka has seen an increase of 4.7 percent in the month of March. The data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority shows that in comparison to the 233,382 tourists that arrived in March 2018, the number has increased to 244,328.

With the increase in investment and business deals, the numbers aren’t surprising. Meeting hotels in Colombo, the likes of Berjaya Hotel Colombo continue to serve the tourists that arrive for such purposes. The main international tourist generating markets for March were India, United Kingdom, China, Germany, and France. with India being the largest source of tourist traffic.
