Sri Lanka Updates Entry Protocols for Tourists – Quarantine-free Holidays for All

Following the reopening of its borders, Sri Lanka has been continually updating its entry requirements for tourists with restrictions easing. Amongst these was a key change to the protocols that came into effect on 20th April 2022; as per a statement by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, all partially vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers were exempted from a day one PCR test for COVID-19 as well as quarantine period.

However, such tourists were required to present a negative result of a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of their embarkation; alternatively, they could bring a negative result of a rapid antigen test (excluding self-swabs) taken within 48 hours before their departure to Sri Lanka. Now, all travellers can enjoy quarantine-free holidays here and the best of the island be it at the beach or in the mountains.
