Sri Lanka Welcomes Influx of Indian Tourists: A Boost to the Island’s Tourism

Sri Lanka welcomed a significant number of visitors from India which nearly totalled 200,000 arrivals. This influx comes as a result of several strategies and campaigns conducted by Sri Lanka Tourism targeting the Indian market.

In June 2024, a series of B2B roadshows and networking events were organised by Sri Lanka across Indore, Surat and Vadodara and targeted travellers from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. These efforts were instrumental in promoting Sri Lanka as a year-round destination with diverse attractions.

As Sri Lanka continues to strengthen its tourism offerings visitors are encouraged to explore the island through various tour packages and enhance their stay at various hotels in Sri Lanka including those provided by the likes of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts.
