Sri Lankan Airlines Announces New Service to London, Maldives – Outbound Travels On The Rise

2016 has been quite the successful year for Sri Lanka’s national flag carrier, SriLankan Airlines, bringing in a considerable positive growth in the number of passengers from the United Kingdom in comparison to the previous years.

Fully-equipped with its very own A330-300 fleet, SriLankan has managed to secure its place as a prime international airline, resulting in an increase in long-haul flights. November 2016 saw an addition of London’s Heathrow Airport to the carrier’s network as their main point of entry into Europe.

Meanwhile, a four-day-a-week flight from Colombo was introduced to Maldives. Bungalow and resort-type luxury accommodation is widely available across the islands for those looking for a quick beach getaway. The Anantara Veli Maldives Resort happens to be one such popular choice of stay amongst tourists.
