Sri Lanka shines as a top travel hotspot.
Sri Lanka has welcomed 1,168,044 tourists in the first half of 2025, with 138,241 arrivals in June alone. June saw 93,486 international visitors in just the first 22 days, signalling a strong mid-year boost for the island’s travel sector.
India continues to lead as the largest source market, contributing 241,994 arrivals, followed by Russia with 112,312 and the United Kingdom with 107,902 visitors. In June alone, India contributed 37,934 tourists, while the UK, China, Australia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh also recorded strong numbers.
With Colombo often being the first stop for international travellers, those wondering where to stay in Colombo will find comfort, style, and value at hotels like Cinnamon Red Colombo, which combines convenience with a modern twist. As tourism rebounds, Sri Lanka remains a favourite for sun, culture, and warm island hospitality.
