Stage Two of Raid Amazones 2022 Winds up with Energy and Adventure – An Energy-filled Event

The highly anticipated Raid Amazones Adventure Challenge 2022 came to an end with an exciting 20-kilometre Bike & Run event from Digampathana to Maha Elagamuwa Lake. This final event was quite innovative where teams of twos and threes were given one and two bikes to share respectively. The team that could optimise speed with the best strategy came on top. The event had plenty of support from the locals throughout the route, which was built through four lake bunds, charming villages, and verdant green forests.

The first few days of the event’s second stage were reserved for the participants to sign themselves up for registration. It was also when they checked their equipment and gear prior to the events such as archery and canoeing. 214 participants took part in stage two of the adventure challenge, which included canoeing, trail running, Bike & Run, and other exciting events. 600 participants took part in this event in two stages where the first stage was held between 13-23 March 2022 while the second stage was held between 28 March-6 April 2022. After the pandemic hit the country, Rain Amazones was the biggest sports tourism event to be held in Sri Lanka, and it is anticipated that through events such as these, a positive message will be sent across the world stating that it is safe to travel to Sri Lanka as emphasised by Truly Sri Lanka and other travel websites.
