The success of President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s economic program, particularly in fortifying the national economy through tourism growth, was emphasized by a Sri Lankan lawmaker. This achievement has played a pivotal role in enhancing the country’s foreign reserves, the lawmaker noted. In alignment with the goal of boosting tourism, the State Ministry of Tourism in Sri Lanka has initiated a new program aimed at presenting the country as an appealing tourist destination.
Furthermore, Sri Lanka hosted the final round of the Miss Tourism World pageant, attracting contestants from 30 countries to explore the island’s beauty. Many five star hotels in Colombo the likes of Cinnamon Grand Colombo were also given exposure. Another significant milestone is on the horizon, as Sri Lanka is set to host the final competition of the World Travel Awards (WTA) in December, with the participation of 117 countries anticipated to further elevate Sri Lanka’s global tourism standing.
