Strengthening Cultural Ties with Japan – Kanagawa Festival in Vietnam

To further strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation, the Kanagawa prefectural government has been actively involved in organizing two significant annual events, the Vietnam Festival in Yokohama City and the Kanagawa Festival in Ha Noi. These initiatives serve as bridges of cultural understanding and partnership between Vietnam and Japan.

Within the structure of the Vietnam Festival held in Kanagawa in September last year, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, Trinh Thi Thuy, and Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, Kuroiwa Yuji, joined hands to sign a Culture, Sports, and Tourism Cooperation Agreement, outlining collaboration between the two regions for the period 2023 to 2025.

Looking ahead, the Kanagawa Festival in Ha Noi 2023 is scheduled from November 17th to 19th. The economic program, commencing on November 17th at a Hoi An luxury resort, will be followed by two days of cultural festivities in the Quyet Tu Monument area, along Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District and Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden. The event promises a rich cultural tapestry with vibrant performances and activities that guests from Anantara Hoi An Resort and other hotels in the area can enjoy. With its Torii temple gate entrance and rows of cherry blossom trees, it aims to capture the attention of both residents and visitors. The festival will host 28 booths, each showcasing the cultural essence of the capital city by the Hoan Kiem Lake area. This initiative serves as a delightful cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.
