Thailand tourism strategy focussing on 40 million visitors by the end of 2019 is reportedly at risk with the strong baht policies and a sudden slowdown experienced in arrivals from China. China being the main country from where the greatest number of travellers come to Thailand, this slowdown has been greatly felt by almost all the tourist hotels and villas including Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas.
The change of the conversion rates has badly affected the arrivals of European and American travellers and the experts predict that there is a tendency that this demand will deviate to countries like Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia if proper initiative is not taken to beat the challenge. According to the latest news from Phuket resort owners, the near reason for the drop of Chinese travellers has to be the boating disaster in their city last year which killed dozens of mainland tourists.
