Sustainability at The Residence Maldives in the Spotlight – Key Resort Initiatives Highlighted

Sustainability initiatives and measures taken by The Residence Maldives were among the aspects put in the spotlight on 16th June 2023 by ETHospitalityWorld.com which was quoting the resort’s general manager, Meenakshi Sundaram. He further revealed that sustainability lies at the property’s core in both guest experiences and operations which set it apart from other Maldives 5-star resorts in the country.

Amongst the initiatives highlighted was “The Earth Basket” which gives guests a chance to explore the resort’s organic and herb gardens and plant nursery, all of which utilise eco-friendly and sustainable methods; the fruits, vegetables and herbs grown here help reduce its carbon footprint and support the local community. On a visit, guests can look forward to an immersive experience and learn more about compost making, animal feeding and farming cycles too. Such initiatives are not limited to the resort itself as it takes part in sustainability activities with local communities; it also features the “Dollar-A-Day” donation programme that let guests help local communities and the environment too.
