TAT Hosts Influencers from ASEAN and South Asia to Boost Tourism

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has invited 27 key opinion leaders (KOLs), influencers, and content creators from ASEAN and South Asian countries for a media familiarisation trip as part of its campaign to promote Thailand’s attractions and soft power to international audiences. The trip, titled the “Amazing Thailand Unbounded Experiences Media Fam Trip,” takes place from March 20-22 in Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom. During this three-day journey, participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, the Philippines, Singapore, and Brunei will explore Thai culture, local products, and tourism services, with a focus on Thailand’s five soft power aspects: food, films, fashion, festivals, and fights. The campaign aims to showcase the unique subcultures within Thai communities.

In 2023, Thailand welcomed 12.59 million tourists from ASEAN, South Asia, and the South Pacific region, accounting for 44.75% of total foreign arrivals and generating approximately 361 billion baht in revenue. TAT governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool highlighted that these tourists, predominantly millennials and families, are vital to Thailand’s tourism economy. For 2024, TAT aims to attract 13.4 million tourists from these regions, focusing on high-spending visitors in the luxury Riverview hotels in Bangkok such as the famous Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel, health, and wellness sectors, which are gaining popularity. A welcome party for the KOLs and their followers was held at the Asiatique The Riverfront Mall in Bangkok, in collaboration with Asset World Corporation.
