Temple of the Emerald Buddha – a wonderful sight

The Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok is one of the most iconic attractions in Thailand. The statue is built in green jasper and is said to be ancient dating back to the 15th century. This precious statue was once in a temple in Chiang Mai.

King Rama I ruled Siam in the 18th century and it was during this period that he got the statue brought down to Bangkok. A special temple was built to house the statue, and this is where it lies today. Today, visitors are allowed to visit the temple and view this magnificent work of art. Thailand will be opening soon and Chatrium Residence Sathon Bangkok and many a hotel in Bangkok Sathorn will be open and ready to take in guests with the right measures for COVID-19.
